I like working with children, from birth to about 12.

8. What’s the worst thing a client can do on location?

Pull out their own camera and try to mimic your pictures.

1. What is your job title?

I am the Marketing Assistant at Ascencion Photography.

2. What do you do in the studio?

I work with clients on the phone and in person to discuss their portrait sessions and Gordon’s photography. I book sessions and sometimes accompany Gordon on location. I also work in the studio to help make our business more available to potential clients.

3. What made you choose this job?

I really enjoy working with people and wanted to gain some valuable work experience in a small business.

4. Favorite place to photograph?

I love Coquina Beach. It’s just gorgeous and offers a wide variety of backdrops.

5. What is the most interesting question a client has asked?

“Where’s the beach?”

6. What is your favorite age group to work with?

I love working with small children. They’re so cute and they make the sessions so much more enjoyable.

7. What’s the worst thing a client can do on location?

Try to control the situation. The best pictures are taken when the family is relaxed and having fun!

Fast Fun Facts:

College attended: I’ll be attending either Boston College or UNC-Chapel Hill in the fall

Favorite color: Pink!

Favorite sports team: The Giants (NFL)

Favorite restaurant on the beach: La Fogata – they know me by name. I don’t even have to order anymore!

Any work-related quirks? When I’m in the studio, I like to listen to music. Sometimes if I’m alone, I sing. And when I’m alone and it’s cleaning day, I dance…

Last book you read: Wuthering Heights

Morning or evening sessions? Morning sessions are the best because the light is so much softer and the sun has just risen over the ocean.

1. What is your job title?

Photographer.

2. What is your routine while doing a shoot?

Well, you know, I go out, tranquilize the kids – I’m only kidding! I first survey the landscape, trying to find the most flattering conditions to assist in creating the most beautiful images for my clients. Then I take the photographs, first some classic poses and then sometimes I try something new. Then I like to just let people be themselves.

3. Do you have any memorable family anecdotes from past shoots?

One time I was on a shoot that had a dog that they wanted in the photographs. When shooting photographs with dogs, I sometimes have to bark at them to get their attention so they look at the camera. Well, I started barking with this particular dog, and after a while the family all started cracking up. I asked what was wrong and they said the dog was deaf!

4. What made you choose this job?

I love working with people and creating beautiful images for folks that they’ll treasure a long time.

5. Favorite place to photograph?

Any beach that has really nice dunes.

6. What is the most interesting question a client has asked?

“Where’s the beach?”

7. What is your favorite age group to work with?

I love them all, but I especially like working with older couples who are celebrating wedding anniversaries or some other important milestone.

8. What’s the worst thing a client can do on location?

Wear bright colors that contrast, like white and black.

Fast Fun Facts:

College attended: American University

Favorite color: Purple or Magenta

Favorite sports team: I don’t really watch sports, but I watch the Tour de France every year.

Favorite restaurant on the beach: The Brewing Station

Any work-related quirks? I love to roll around in my roll-y chair. It’s like riding go-carts! Sometimes, I roll around the entire studio just because.

Last book you read: A spooky book whose name I can’t remember by Dean Koontz

Morning or evening sessions? I love sunrise sessions the most.
